A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
